Gaming Hardware Manufacturing Giant Reveals Portable 5G Router

At CES 2020, Razer, a renowned gaming hardware manufacturer has showed off a portable 5G router, Sila 5G.

Razer had launched Sila in 2018, as its debut in router market, which had offered reliable WiFi and high-speed performance for gaming purpose. But this time, Sila has been upgraded with 5G version which has Razer’s FasTrack technology like the previous version of Sila. Sila 5G contains a rechargeable battery that allows users to use it as a portable hotspot. The firm has also added a dedicated ‘Gaming Mode’ in the device.

According to Razer, the new router allows its users to manually prioritize specific hardware or apps. Users can also use their iOS and Android apps to control networking priorities, Sila 5G’s settings, including the creation of guest networks.

Razer has equipped Sila 5G with Qualcomm SDX55 (for LTE and 5G network connection) and WiFi 6 supporting Hawkeye IPQ8072A chipset (for WiFi). The list also includes four Gbps LAN, one USB 3.0 ports, 2.5Gbps WAN, and a SIM slot to link with cellular network.

Razer has not disclosed the price and launching details of the device instead it introduced its other products including Razer Kishi, a universal mobile gaming controller; a new Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop; and a Razer e-racing simulator which the company has created by collaborating with game vendors and publishers.

In the announcement, Razer assures the gamers that with the Sila 5G Home Router, gaming will become so amazing with no pings and interruptions from network glitches or other services. It also says that the device has ultra-low latency during stationary and mobile gameplay which means that gamers would never face any type of network issue during their gameplay while on track even.
